week 35

This week in preparation for the Volunteer Tea we painted tin cans and made paper flowers for the center pieces that went on the tables. Some of us splatter painted our cans and it was SUPER messy but the cans turned out so cool! The center pieces look amazing!!

This week was the Volunteer Tea on Friday. We performed at the tea, some of us played recorders, xylophones, tone chimes and sang hot cross buns. The recorder players were separated into 3 different groups, melody, harmony 1, and harmony 2. It was nice because every single grade 3/4 student was included. The tea is a really important event in the year to say a big thank you to all of the generous parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends that give their time to the school so that we can do amazing things! So volunteers, even if you couldn't make it today, know how much you are appreciated by us at CJFS! Thank you for everything!!

We started playing soccer in gym and next week we are starting kick ball!

Sports day is next Friday June 1st!!! Woo Hoo!

Annie Gale came over to our school and performed for us! They have two bands and they played us some incredible music. We even knew some of the songs. They played music from Jungle Book and they also played Despacito!

We had a Birthday this week! Happy Birthday B!

Exposed!! ;)

We had a short week this week, there was no school on Monday because it was Victoria Day.

This week grade 4s didn't have open gym because the gym was set up for the Volunteer Tea.

The grade 4s that are interested in becoming a patroller next year received an application form. The application is due back by June 1st.

We finished our Ukraine study guide this week. Next week we will be working on India's study guide in preparation for a Social Studies test that will come up in June.

Or in our case, without working on the study guides.

We have pizza fun lunch next week! Orders must be place by Friday May 25th at www.healthyhunger.ca

In math we have been practicing multiplication and on Monday we will be having a multiplication AND division test.

For Science we talked about pitch and volume. Miss Klem played us some sounds and we had to figure out if they were high pitched or low pitched and what the frequency was for each sound. It was hard but so much fun!

Until next week,

Love,

Room 7 & 8
