Week 24

We had Worry Dragons twice this week! Worry Dragons is when Ms. Alley, a registered nurse, comes in and talks to us about anxiety and what we can do to make ourselves feel better. Anxiety is when you feel nervous and worried. Some things I can do to make myself feel better are watch T.V. take deep breaths, drink water, listen to music, and think green thoughts.

Yesterday was our last day with Mission Impossible :(  It was so fun and it was cool because our class was the class that got to help set up mission impossible this year. Mr. Collins even added a new obstacle every day! We had to be silent when we were spying through the obstacles because spies don't make any sound, if we talked we had to go to the penalty box!

Last night was Literacy Night! Not all of us went but some of us did and it was so fun! There were different stations set up around the school that gave parents and students ideas about how to improve our literacy skills and what it means to be literate. Thank you Ms. Kemski for setting that all up!

We finally got to start typing our good copies of our stories on the computer! Most of us are done and will be done typing our final copies soon. We are then going to work on our 'about the author' page and our illustrations. We started making plans for our cover pages too.

    

  

Our volunteer teachers came on Wednesday, they helped us type our stories and work on our multiplication books this week.

For Social Studies Miss Klem and Kolb got artifacts from the Glenbow Museum that we got to explore and look at. We HAD to wear special gloves when we were handling the artifacts. We got to go around the room and guess what the artifact were made from, used for, and called. Sometimes we got it right and sometimes we were surprised to learn what they were! Ask me who used these artifacts.

    

  

  

    

  

    

We continued with our multiplication books in math this week. We worked on 7s and 8s. 

    

Yesterday we had a pretty tough day. We had to have a class meeting about showing respectful listening and actions. Some of us made some poor choices and we all made a plan for how we are going to fix this. Free choice has been suspended and we will see if we can earn it back today. We will do an update at the end of the day.

As always though, we had free writing. Unfortunately we were not able to have a prize draw this afternoon because of how we acted in gym. We were not following safety rules or showing Mr. Collins respectful listening. We will try again next week.
